Trainee Mortgage Adviser job description

We are a family run business based in Stockton looking to add the next member to our team.

We are looking for somebody who wants a career in the Mortgage and Protection industry.

The successful Trainee Mortgage Adviser will be offered:

  • £22,000 Basic Salary

  • Commission/bonus structure to be introduced after 18 months initial training period

  • Superb training and development programme with career progression opportunities

  • Mortgage and Protection Leads Provided

  • 6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays

  • 36 hours, between 8am and 8pm over a 4 day week

  • 12% employer pension contribution

To be considered for the role you must have:

  • Be willing to study towards and gain CeMap or equivalent qualifications – study material and exams will be paid for.

  • Study time to be done in own time outside of work hours

  • A minimum (ideally) of 2 years administration experience.

  • Ability to resolve problems quickly & efficiently.

  • Outstanding communication skills at all levels, both written and oral.

  • Excellent customer service

  • Be organised and detail oriented

  • The successful candidate will need to demonstrate professionalism and be comfortable dealing with clients, lenders and providers.

  • Highly competent user of IT and a competent Microsoft Office user, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Initial Duties and tasks for the role include:

  • Greet and welcome clients in a professional and friendly manner

  • Liaise with all Holistic team members

  • Fact finding with clients, paying attention to detail and researching appropriate protection solutions for existing and new clients

  • Liaising with Protection providers in a professional manner

  • Accurately preparing client reports using various IT systems

  • Preparing and collating documentation for client files pre and post client meetings efficiently

  • Processing through applications with providers in a timely manner

  • Keeping the client updated throughout the whole Mortgage & Protection process from start to finish and beyond

  • Any other duties and tasks as requested by line managers

Once fully qualified as a Mortgage Adviser, the role will involve:

  • Being able to walk our clients through the entire mortgage service, including providing advice on a range of products and services to meet clients needs.

  • Attracting new clients and business, whilst being motivated to achieve professional goals within a result-driven environment.

  • Identify clients financial needs and advise them on the products that would best suit their requirements.

  • Ensure clients understand the products and services offered and the process.

  • Complete client interviews by appointment identifying their requirements and needs.

  • Writing Mortgage and Protection business

  • Deliver a professional and credible service and ensure your knowledge is up to date at all times.
